I thought I&#8217;d follow up by a collection of 13 fairly unrelated ancient things that I found interesting\/amusing. I give you my list of &#8220;wonders from the past&#8221;&#8230;..<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news4596.html\">Lost DaVinci mural discovered<\/a> &#8211; Found by Maurizio Seracini of <a href='http:\/\/calit2.net'>Calit2<\/a>.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/history\/070706_hn_hatshepsut.html\">3500 year old female pharoh named Hatshepsut identified (some other cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news101832475.html\">mummies found recently<\/a> include a high priest of Amun in the city of Luxor)<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifeinitaly.com\/news\/news-detailed.asp?newsid=5610\">The final location of the Holy Grail (or &#8220;holy funnel&#8221; as this research describes it) has been identified.<\/a> This hasn&#8217;t actually been confirmed yet, but it is interesting.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/news\/world\/article436983.ece\">Soft tissue from a T-Rex was discovered inside a bone. This <\/a>, makes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news102762937.html\">good soup<\/a>, as Chinese villagers have discovered. If that sounds tasty, you can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news103221468.html\">dig up your own in Wyoming.<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleplaces.com\/poolofsiloam.htm\">The Pool of Siloam (from the Bible) discovered (year 2005).<\/a> There was a time when the shmexperts told us this didn&#8217;t exist.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www-news.uchicago.edu\/releases\/07\/070423.fungus.shtml\">A 20 foot tall fungus existed in the Devonian period.<\/a> Imagine it growing in your back yard!\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news102592447.html\">A building found inside a Chinese emperor&#8217;s tomb.<\/a> There was also an army of terracotta warriors and other cool things.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/topNews\/idUSL014372920070501\">Music encoded in the walls of a Scottish Church<\/a>. This one is a bit questionable, but fascinating nevertheless.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news101287298.html\">Writings of Isaac Newton discovered that predict the world will end in 2060<\/a>. Given my <a href=\"http:\/\/stevenrbrandt.com\/wordpress\/?p=51\">tech predictions<\/a>, I&#8217;m inclined to agree with him.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/world\/europe\/357672.stm\">Veil of Veronica found (after being missing for 400 years)<\/a>. This is like the Shroud of Turin, in most respects. An ancient image of Christ.\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/19246344\/\">Sunken treasure off the coast of Florida hidden for for 384 years by 18 feet of water!<\/a> &#8211; Don&#8217;t you wish you&#8217;d found it?\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfmu.org\/MACrec\/\">Nostalgia &#8212; Flexible plastic recods in cereal boxes.<\/a> Totally retro!\n<li>44 year old blogger discovered still alive in living room. This was somewhat more amazing than the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalgeographic.com\/news\/2007\/05\/070522-coelacanth.html\">catching of a coelacanth.<\/a> The explorer credited with discovering the ancient blogger said, &#8220;Who&#8217;d have thought anything this old could still be alive?
